The Union of Catholic Mothers together with “Bernadette’s
Knit and Natter Group” have been busy knitting and crocheting for the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box appeal,
Well over 980 squares were knitted and then edged and crocheted together to make blankets for children in orphanages, along with some crocheted blankets they produced forty one blankets.
The members of the Union of Catholic Mothers also completed eleven gift shoe boxes, these with the blankets and spare hats, scarves and toys were taken over to Exeter to the sorting and departure warehouse where the four member were asked if they would like to help check the boxes and pack up the blankets. They enjoyed doing this.
Next year they are planning to go and help for a day!
