Christians Together in Exmouth (CTE) is an umbrella/forum for the Christian churches in Exmouth.
It exists to:
- Improve relationships between our member churches and to provide support and encouragement for each other.
- Help us to join together in various ways in order to proclaim our common faith and serve our community in more effective ways.
Over the last few years we have organised among other events:
- Bible studies
- Taize evenings of Worship
- Assorted Carol singing events
- Picnics open to all
- Songs of Praise in Manor Gardens as part of the Exmouth Festival
- United 5th Sunday services
- Passion plays
- The joint service for The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
- The 40,000 Person Exmouth Prayer Puzzle, based on the Exmouth map, in which all the churches of Exmouth are blanketing our town in prayer, street by street
We also participate as a group or as individuals in many other activities including:
- The Good Friday Walk of Witness from Tower St to Glenorchy
- Night Shift
- Joint Exmouth Sunday School events
- Christian Aid Week Service
- Bible Society Service
- Evangelistic events (such as J John’s visit, Hope 2008, The Brix)
- Christians Together in Devon Events
- ICE
We are changing to 3 Open Meetings per year and have introduced more informal cafe style meetings, which encourage people from all churches to mingle!
At these meetings talks are given by people who have experience in local Christian projects, accompanied by tea, coffee and cakes.
All are very welcome.
