On a bright and chilly weekend last week (23rd – 25th February 2018) the Confirmation Group, together with their parents, came together for a residential retreat at Buckfast Abbey. They stayed together in Grangehurst house and spent the weekend learning together, eating together, craft making together and praying together.
The photos show them enjoying each other’s company and a sneak preview of the beautiful banners they have made for display in the church at their Confirmation.
It was joyful couple of days enjoyed by all as a large family, led by Fr. Philip and two catechists, Siobhan Canham and Paul Clarke who are offering their service throughout the preparation course.
The parents were wonderful and followed their own preparation over the weekend, as well as helping in the kitchen as a ‘support team’ to feed and water the group! They also brought with them a delicious variety of home made cakes to keep everyone full of energy!
Bishop Mark will be coming to our parish on 5th May when 15 of our young parishioners, aged between 12 and 18, will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. It promises to be a very joyful occasion.
