What a walk that was! Last week I was joined by some 20 parishioners aged between 12 and 84 on my return walk between my two parishes. We were blessed with good weather, great team spirit and a host of encouraging parishioners to see us off and welcome us back again.
On arrival in Budleigh Salterton we were warmly welcomed by Kaz and Glen who had plenty of much-needed liquid refreshment ready for us. When we arrived back in Exmouth a small crowd of parishioners applauded us home again, and the church bell was rung in celebration. Afternoon tea was a wonderful affair, and my thanks to the UCM for all their hard work. Suitable ‘walking’ music filled the Hall and Lorraine presented everyone with certificates.
It really was a great day! Thank you to everyone who sponsored me and raised funds for both parishes. Your generosity has been tremendous and envelopes with sponsorship money are still dropping through the letterbox.
How will we follow this next year?!
